“EA-EMDR is an animal-assisted approach to EMDR therapy that involves partnering with horses as sentient beings and in a manner that is supported by training, qualifications, ethical practice, and a keen awareness of client and animal welfare.” Sarah Jenkins. (eaemdr.com)

Equine Assisted-Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EA-EMDR) is a unique approach to EMDR by partnering with horses to help with healing. As a part of therapy, horses can help access neural networks and promote healing in an effective way. EA-EMDR can be used in all phases of EMDR or enhance certain phases, based on client’s goals. EA-EMDR is held at a physical location and all work is done on the ground, such as observation or interacting with the horse. There is no riding involved in EA-EMDR.

EA-EMDR sessions are out of network with insurance. If you wish to use your insurance benefits, I can  provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement depending on your specific plan. Sessions are $160/ per 50 minute. Alternatively, clients can engage in a hybrid variation of EA-EMDR where sessions held via telehealth are in network, and in person session will be out of network.
